The first recorded game of Golf was played in Scotland in the 15th Century. Although, some claim that it originated in the 12th century. During the 20th Century Golf spread rapidly across the British Isles and then across the world.  Golf can claim to be the original social sport and although the world's leading professionals play in front of thousands at the Open and Masters Tournaments, it is the millions who play a round of Golf regularly on their home courses with their friends and colleagues that make it such a vibrant and compelling activity to take part in.
