Fast crossing of the Irish sea in 2 single seakayaks in a Force4 easterly wind by Justine Curgenven and Nick Cunliffe. We could surf nearly all the way. We launched just after 4am in the dark at Soldiers Point. we paddled to North Stack along the coast then followed a bearing of 280 degrees. The ebb tide carried us very far south, and the flood didn't carry us as far north so we had to adjust our bearing to NW for the last 2 hours.
